Dr. Saiful Islam, a leader in seismic design, recently presented at the 2017 SEAOC (Structural Engineers Association of California) National Convention in San Diego, California. Dr. Islam’s presentation focused on the innovative strategies used to fast-track the performance-based design of the Metropolis High-Rise Development in Downtown Los Angeles. The 4 tower Metropolis project made history being the largest mixed-use development in California, the tallest all concrete residential towers in the Western US, and the fastest built project in the City of Los Angeles.
