The MiraCosta College Health and Wellness Hub has been honored with the California Best Project award in the Higher Education/Research category by the Engineering News-Record. Saiful Bouquet is proud to have provided structural engineering services for this Balfour Beatty and HMC Architects-led project and is grateful to have worked alongside our partners to bring the 74,336-square-foot hub to life.
The new facility includes three stand-alone, steel frame structures—Gymnasium, KHAN, and Allied Health— with spaces for sports, offices, and classrooms. Built-up, long-span, steel trusses were designed to create the vast volume for the gymnasium to meet both basketball and volleyball regulations. The new buildings replace the original facilities and now provide state-of-the-art allied health, kinesiology, wellness and athletic programs to promote student success.
