Saiful Bouquet completed the structural design services for the USC’s New $110 Million Student Center building. The 4-story center is designed to house a number of university centers, including the new Admission Center and the Epstein Family Alumni Center. The new facility offers group study areas, food services areas, game rooms, in addition to meeting rooms, multi-purpose areas and a 1,000 guest multi-purpose room. The project also includes multiple food service venues ranging from a Food Court to a full-service restaurant with indoor and patio seating.
The hub of the Campus Center is a 3-story rotunda which houses the Trojan Family Room. The rotunda roof framing consists of tied arches with the 3rd floor hung from the arches. The facility was awarded the 2011 Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Facility Design Award of Excellence.
“Their analysis of different structural options early in the design process has helped significantly to reduce time, schedule, and costs to the projects.”
