The CSU Channel Islands Town Center includes faculty and staff apartments plus retail and office spaces. The mixed-use design of the town center envisions a public plaza area with a small market, café and student bookstore. Apartments for faculty and staff are built above ground floor retail/office spaces.
The town center will create an attractive collegial focal point for east campus residents and main campus users. The project includes 58 apartment units, parking for 250 cars, 28,000sf of retail space, a health club and fitness center, a and faculty/staff private dining club. The project connects to the adjacent Broome Library via pedestrian bridge.
The Town Center design is consistent with the original historic campus core areas and the University Glen architectural theme.
