Saiful Bouquet developed construction documents for the proposed Replacement Hospital at Kaiser South Bay Replacement Hospital. The replacement of this hospital was planned in order to address the issues of seismic non-compliance and functional obsolescence of the aging existing structures. Saiful Bouquet designed the replacement hospital to meet the seismic safety standards mandated by SB 1953.
The new hospital would provide acute care and emergency services and was designed to provide 96 med surge beds. The project also consisted of a new 45,000 sq. ft. Medical Office Building and a new 86,000 sq. ft. Health Support Building. The project was designed and constructed so that the existing hospital could remain functional until the new hospital was ready and occupied. (Project cancelled after CD Phase was completed.)
