The new Athens Sheriff’s Station will be a 33,750-square-foot facility with a 5,000-square-foot vehicle maintenance building and 3,000 square feet of office space as an additive alternate (Fuel Island, Communications Tower, Car Wash, Above Ground Fuel Storage Tanks, Helistop (Alternate). The site facility’ includes 330 parking spaces, fueling island, communication tower, car wash facility, above ground fuel storage tanks, and a helistop as an additive alternate. The Sheriff’s station also includes a community room, which will serve as a Departmental Operations Center in case of emergencies.
Saiful Bouquet is the engineer of record for the new station. The new structural system is a CMU Block Structural Frame.
