Saiful Bouquet Structural Engineers, Inc. provided structural design services for the Golden West College Math and Science Building. This 3-story, 110,000 sq. ft. facility is of structural steel construction and includes laboratories, classrooms, offices and support spaces that will help students grow academically and socially. The floor and roof framing consist of composite steel framing with concrete filled metal deck slab. The lateral system of the building is Eccentric Braced Frames.
Breaking down barriers to creatively accommodate the various ways students learn, spaces are available to suit an individual or group study environment. Proudly, signaling a new era of STEM education, this building was designed to qualify for a LEED Silver certification.
