Saiful Bouquet is providing services for the Pasadena City College Sarafian Building Replacement. The new 90,763 gsf building will be utilized by the college Health and Natural Science programs and will consist of classroom lecture space, laboratory space and offices. The building is 5 stories above grade and steel framed.
The building structural system consists of lightweight concrete slab over metal deck supported by steel beams framing into steel columns. The lateral system consists of braced frames using Buckling Restrained Braces located on the perimeter of the building. Some of the laboratory classroom floor areas are designed to meet stringent vibration criteria. The foundation consists of shallow spread footings.
