Saiful Bouquet provided structural engineering services for the new 5-story high quality office space located in the heart of the Playhouse District on the southwest corner of Colorado Boulevard and El Molino Avenue. The Playhouse Plaza includes 137,000 sf of offices, and 19,000 sf of open space. The office includes balcony spaces along Colorado Boulevard in addition to two inviting courtyards for meetings and dining. The ground floor is continuously open to internal courtyards and adjacent sidewalks, which are fronted by 8,000-square feet of retail and restaurant space on the ground level.
The steel framed office sits above 4½ levels of subterranean concrete parking, featuring 45’ long spans. Seismic systems used a dual system of Buckling Restrained Braced Frames and Special Moment Resisting Frames.
The Playhouse Plaza is LEED Silver certified.
