Saiful Bouquet provided full structural engineering services for the Sunset Time Luxury Condominium in West Hollywood, California. Sunset Time is a mixed-use high-end landmark development consisting of the Montage Hotel and a residential building located in the heart of the Sunset Strip on the corner of Sunset and Olive in West Hollywood. The project incorporates dramatic architecture with ambitious engineering moves designed to create an iconic place for locals and visitors.
The Residential building is located on a steep hillside just below the hotel. It is over 400,000sf with 7 stories above and 7 stories below motor court level to accommodate over 400 parking stalls. Post-tensioned concrete slabs support the typical floors, and concrete shear walls are used as the seismic force resisting system. The Residential building is subject to 5 levels of sustained unbalanced soil pressure. Residential units at each floor feature private swimming pools and heavily landscaped balconies.
