Saiful Bouquet Inc. provided structural design services on the new Ramona Opportunity High School Campus located in East Los Angeles for the Los Angeles Unified School District. The project consists of the construction of a new 47,850 sq.ft. high school campus which houses 351 students.
The new Opportunity High School consists of four primary buildings; a two-story Administration/Classroom Building, a Multi-Purpose Lunch Shelter Building, Gymnasium/Locker-Shower Building, and an Infant Care Building. The complex includes an underground parking structure that lies below the Administration/Classroom building.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) needed to take a portion of the existing school site in order to build the Eastside Light Rail Transit Line that serves East Los Angeles. In exchange for the property needed, MTA acquired additional property across Alma Avenue and vacated Alma Avenue.
