Saiful Bouquet is providing structural engineering services for the new USC Medical Office Building with approximately 110,000 GSF, located in Pasadena, California. The building will also have three levels of subterranean parking.
Above grade, the proposed building structure will feature steel construction with lightweight concrete fill over metal deck, supported by steel beams and columns. Seismic bracing for the steel structure will be provided by perimeter moment frames with connections utilizing either reduced beam section (RBS) connections or proprietary Sideplate connections. The subterranean parking levels will be constructed using conventional reinforced concrete.
